Radiohead offer up remixes of songs of The King of Limbs

Radiohead fans are all abuzz these days, thanks to the news that the prized alternative rock band is plotting a new world tour in 2012 and even, possibly, a new album. Now, the Britpop guys have posted three new remixes of songs from The King of Limbs — which dropped last February — online. Head to the bottom of the page and click the widget to listen to the tracks, and while you’re at it, let us know what you think in the comments section.

The tracks have Jamie xx remixing “Bloom,” Anstam remixing “Separator” and Nathan Fake remixing “Morning Mr. Magpie.” According to the band’s website, the songs were not released in time to be included on the vinyl releases of the remixes, but they’ll see a proper release Monday (Nov. 21) at Radiohead’s King of Limbs store. The tracks are alternative takes or extended remixes of the songs that appear on the album.

Radiohead bass player Colin Greenwood posted a special message to accompany the remixes: “Hello! Here are the three remixes by Anstam, Nathan Fake and Jamie xx that sadly didn’t make it in time for the vinyl release – we wanted to get them out because we’re big fans and wanted you to hear them too.” He also hinted at more tour dates coming out in the next few weeks.

Earlier this week, the band announced new dates for their 2012 world tour, including stops in Italy and Germany. Radiohead had already confirmed a 10-date U.S. tour dates, starting out Feb. 27 in Miami, Fla., and closing out March 15 in Glendale, Ariz. The guys are expected to announce more U.K. and European tour dates before too long, and we’re gunning for more U.S. dates. Find North America tour dates on the news page.
