Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor loves the holidays

Corey Taylor, the voice behind formative hard rock bands Stone Sour and Slipknot, is currently touring the U.S. on a solo tour, billed “An Evening with Corey Taylor.” The shows present the crooner doing both spoken-word and acoustic presentations, followed by intimate question-and-answer sessions with the crowd, where audience members can basically asked Taylor anything.

Fans have learned more than a few unique things about Taylor through these interview sessions. Most recently, they learned that Taylor — brace yourself — is a huge fan of Christmas and all the jolly traditions that go with it. “I love Christmas,” he told the Pulse of Radio (via Blabbermouth). “I love getting the family together. I love hanging out. I love buying gifts for everyone. I’m that guy – like, I don’t even care if I get anything for Christmas. I’m gonna get people gifts because I just love to see them light up. I love it. It’s one of my favorite times of the year.” Isn’t it great to hear there’s a warm and fuzzy side to even a rocker as heavy as Taylor?

Taylor isn’t the only seminal singer doing a solo run this winter. Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell is also making the rounds on an acoustic tour, and the jaunt has sold out in a number of cities. It seems playing lone is the cool thing to do around the holidays! Cornell’s run, called the “Songbook Tour,” has the singer performing famous cuts from his days in Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog and his solo catalog. The tour wraps up Dec. 15 in San Francisco, and find a full list of tour dates, here.
