Jane’s Addiction are set to rock North American theaters this spring

It’s official: Perry Ferrell-fronted Jane’s Addiction will hit the road in 2012. The experienced alternative group will kick off a fairly North American run Feb. 5 in Indianapolis and play a steady stream of shows through March 24 in Milwaukee, Wis. The guys will cap-off the run with two back-to-back Brazil shows, April 7 and 8, in Sao Paulo. The tour is in support of Jane’s Addiction’s latest full-length, “The Great Escape Artist,” which arrived in October of 2011 on Capitol Records.

The tour, coined “Theatre of the Escapists,” has the band bringing their catchy hybrid of alternative music — metal with touches of punk and rock — to intimate venues, many of which are classic theaters. “We chose to play as many of the great theaters that we could find because we wanted to immerse the audience in a unique experience unlike any they have ever seen at a rock show,” Ferrell said in an official statement.

Ferrell will be joined by guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bass player Chris Chaney on bass for the tour. Tickets for the shows go on sale Jan. 14, pre-sale beginning at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday (Jan. 11). Find the complete list of Jane’s Addiction’s U.S. tour dates, below.
