Killswitch Engage to play two Canadian summer festivals

Killswitch Engage are back with Jesse Leach on vocals, and the Massachusetts metallers have booked their first shows with Leach once again at the helm. Killswitch Engage are confirmed to play two metal festivals this summer: Heavy T.O. festival, set to happen Aug. 11-12 at Downsview Park in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Heavy MTL, also happening Aug. 11-12 but in Montreal, Qebec, Canada. Killswitch will play Heavy MTL on Aug. 11 and Heavy T.O. on Aug. 12. Check out the Heavy MTL and Heavy T.O. sites for ticket information.

When the news hit of singer Howard Jones’ departure from Killswitch early this year, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz says the guys put Leach through some trials before they brought him back into the band. But, of course, Leach nailed all the tests. “When we got back in the rehearsal room with Jesse, it just felt right,” Dutkiewicz told Noisecreep. “He’s one of my good friends, and the awkwardness of meeting someone for the first time and all of that stuff, was gone when he jammed with us again. We also knew what Jesse is capable of, so it just took all of us getting in a room together again to remember how cool it once was. He blew us away.

“We were in a position where we could take our time and try out as many singers as we wanted. There are a lot of talented singers out there, and we didn’t want to rush everything. We ended up mulling it over a bit, and we tried out a few different people.” Killswitch Engage are currently working on a new album with Leach, which is expected to drop later this year.
