Pearl Jam frontman moves April tour to October

Fans counting down the days until Eddie Vedder hits the road on his U.S. solo tour are staring at some bad news. The Pearl Jam frontman has to postpone all of the dates on his upcoming trek, due to Vedder suffering from temporary nerve damage in his right arm caused by a back injury he experienced earlier this year. Vedder, thankfully, is anticipated to make a complete recovery.

“After having worked aggressively with doctors and physical therapists for the last eight weeks to repair the damage, the intensity of the injury and time needed to heal has made it impossible to play the shows as scheduled,” Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis said in a statement on the Seattle grunge group’s official website. “There was hope up until the last minute that the treatments would be successful. Sincerest apologies go out to those who have made plans and bought tickets. Eddie is frustrated beyond measure, but remains positive that come this summer all will be back in good form.”

Vedder’s tour was slated to kick off on April 10, but now, the first date will set off on Oct. 31 in Las Vegas, Nev. Tickets will be honored for the new dates, and for those who can’t make it, refunds will be offered upon request at the point of purchase. Members of Pearl Jam’s fan club who purchased pre-sale tickets through the band’s website will receive a special email with instructions on how to obtain their refunds.

In other Pearl Jam news, guitarist Stone Gossard recently stated that the guys are hoping to continue recording sessions for their upcoming studio album over the next few months, but he doesn’t envision it coming out until 2013.
