Stone Sour frontman tweets details on band’s upcoming album

The new album from blustering alternative metal group Stone Sour is almost here. For the past few months, frontman Corey Taylor and the guys have been holed up in the studio, working on their fourth full-length album, and yesterday (June 11), Taylor took to his Twitter account to announce the title and release date for the upcoming, double concept album. Taylor tweeted, “The new Stone Sour album is a 2-part double concept album called “House of Gold and Bones” (HoGaB), parts 1 and 2. Part 1 will drop in Oct ’12.”

The frontman also stated that the second part of the album will reach fans’ ears sometime in 2013, tweeting, “Part 2 will drop next year. 24 songs, 12 on each disc. Each disc will include one half of the story.” As for song, Taylor offered up a few song titles that will likely appear on the upcoming album, including “Absolute Zero,” “RU486,” “Taciturn” and “A Rumor of Skin.”

As if putting out two full albums wasn’t enough to keep Stone Sour busy, Taylor also tweeted that he will be working on creating a comic book to accompany the album as soon as he can “lock in the company who will help me put it together.”

Later this month, Taylor will switch over to Slipknot duties, as the band are slated to play this year’s Rockstar Mayhem Festival with the Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Motorhead and more. That trek sets off June 30 at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, Calif., and runs through Aug. 5 in Hartford, Conn.
