Foo Fighters set for a handful of shows this August, September

Last year, Dave Grohl and his post-grunge band Foo Fighters were out on the road night after night, playing fresh tracks off their 2011 release, “Wasting Light,” to music hungry crowds of tens of thousands. There was no shortage of Foo Fighters tour dates, as the guys seemed to make a stop at almost every major market, as well as a headlining showing at Chicago’s famed Lollapalooza music festival.

This year is a different story. While the guys have played a few festival dates and overseas gigs, they’re taking some much-deserved time off from the road and — fingers-crossed — writing new music. Those fans that just have to see the Foo this summer are in luck, though, as the guys have a few dates lines up through September. Most are overseas, but two are in the U.S.: Sept. 21 at the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta and Sept. 22 at DeLuna Fest in Pensacola Beach, Fla. Find the band’s current tour roster below.

As for new music, late last year, Grohl stated that he was already hard on work on new songs. In a post on the band’s official website, he explained, ““…We’re not finished yet. There are still more shows to play, more songs to write, more albums to record, for years to come. I mean…..If you would have told me 17 years ago that in 2012 I would be writing songs for our 8th studio album….well….. If it weren’t for you guys, we wouldn’t be here.
