Canadian rock outfit Three Days Grace to release ‘Transit of Venus’ in October

Modern rock band Three Days Grace are revving up to unleash their brand new album, “Transit of Venus,” on Oct. 2, and along with it, the Canadian boys are planning a fall tour is support of the release. The three week jaunt will kick off Oct. 8 at Trees in Dallas and wrap up Oct. 28 in Nashville, Tenn. Tickets for the tour dates will go on sale on Friday via Ticketmaster. Check out the full itinerary below.

So, what should fans expect from the new album? Three Days Grace are known for their angst-y coming of age themes, and guitarist Barry Stock says this new set will bring more of those motifs.

“We definitely have those moments in the record about growing up, because you never really stop growing up,” Stock told Audio Ink Radio. “We’re getting older, but we’re still growing into something else, so I find the themes are similar whether you’re 35 or 15. Those kinds of themes can reflect the lives of a lot of people, not just teenagers.”

Stock also says to expect an honest collection of songs: “We use music to vent, and we’re honest about the topics we bring up in our music.” Check back for our full interview with Stock in the coming weeks. (Photo credit: Anne Erickson.)
