The Black Keys have unleashed their latest music video from ‘El Camino’
Blues-rock duo the Black Keys have unleashed their music video for “Little Black Submarines,” the newest single from their latest full-length, “El Camino.” The four-minute video highlights footage of the group playing the song live in front an intimate bunch of fans at the Springwater Supper Club in Nashville, Tenn.
As guitarist Dan Auerbach explains, the Black Keys originally taped a selection of random clips for the “Little Black Submarines” video, but they opted to replace them with the live footage from their show at the small venue.
“There was a storyline, but it didn’t work,” Auerbach recently told Rolling Stone of the first version of the video. “We all just sort of kind of mutually agreed that it should probably just be the performance and not any of the other extra stuff. We just sort of said ‘You know, it was fun kind of performing here at a small club with the fans. Why don’t we just have it be that?’”
As for what’s on tap for the Black Keys through the end of 2012, the due have booked a gig with Foo Fighters and Band of Horses at the Global Festival, a special show to raise money and awareness surrounding global poverty. The gig will happen in New York City’s Central Park on Sept. 29. Say you want in? Fifty-four thousand tickets will be given away by lottery, but anyone looking to have access to the lottery will have to contribute some charitable deeds or donate funds to participate in the drawing for a ticket.
