Soundgarden are set to headline a two-day music festival in Tel Aviv
One could call Chris Cornell a regular in Israel, as the Soundgarden frontman has performed there as a solo artists in 2009 and last year. Now, Cornell is heading back to Israel, and this time, he’s bringing along his Soundgarden band mates.
Soundgarden have announced they will headline day two of a two-day music festival in Tel Aviv, according to the Jerusalem Posts. Joining the legendary Seattle-based grunge rock band at the festival, which is set to happen at Tel Aviv’s Bloomfield Stadium, will be the Pixies with a headlining performance on June 17.
“I enjoyed performing in Israel so much in recent years, and I’m really excited to be returning finally with Soundgarden,” Cornell said in a statement regarding the festival.
More acts will be performing at the upcoming festival, and the full lineup is expected to be announced in January of 2014.
Soundgarden are also set to perform next year at Lollapalooza festival dates in Chile, Brazil and Argentina, all of which take place next spring.
