Chris Martin of Coldplay will put together the Global Citizen Festival for the next 15 years
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has a busy 15 years ahead. Martin has just signed on to curate the Global Citizen Festival for the next decade and a half. While the festival has been held in New York City’s Central Park the past three years, the festival will now go global.
“I, and we as a band, are so excited to be working with Global Citizen,” Martin said in a statement. “They are passionate about putting equality, fairness and compassion into the world, and improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world whose needs are sometimes overlooked. We are joining their cause because we believe in it, and in them, very much.”

Pas bands that have performed at Global Citizen Festivals include Foo Fighters, No Doubt, fun., The Black Keys, Kings of Leon and Band of Horses. The artist lineups for the upcoming Global Citizen events will be revealed later this year.
