Weezer’s first six studio albums are returning to wax

There’s good news for fans of vinyl albums and Weezer. The Rivers Cuomo-fronted band is unleashing its first six studio albums on wax this fall. Weezer will reissue 1994’s “Weezer (Blue Album),” 1996’s “Pinkerton,” 2001’s “Weezer (Green Album),” 2002’s “Maladroit,” 2005’s “Make Believe” and 2008’s “Weezer (Red Album)” will all on vinyl Oct. 28. Those albums combined contain many Weezer radio hits, including “Buddy Holly,” “Undone – The Sweater Song,” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun,” to name some.

In other Weezer news, the band just celebrated the 20th anniversary of their “Pinkerton” album on Sept. 24. The release is considered a cult classic, although it wasn’t a favorite commercially or critically when it was originally released in the 1990s. hile Pinkerton wasn’t well received commercially or critically upon its original release, the album has since become a cult favorite. “Pinkerton” was also certified platinum literally days before the album’s 20th anniversary.

It’s been a big year of news for Weezer, as the guys also released their latest studio album back in April, “Weezer (White Album).”
