Papa Roach get aggressive with new single, ‘Crooked Teeth’

Remember Papa Roach, the guys behind that infectious 2000 rap-rock hit “Last Resort?” Well, here we are, more than a decade and a half later, and the California rock band is still going strong, coming up on its 10th studio album.

While Papa Roach’s upcoming album has yet to get a title or release date, the band has unleashed a new song off the set, “Crooked Teeth.” The track is streaming now via Papa Roach’s YouTube channel.

It takes a lot to keep a band going for as long as Papa Roach, and part of that longevity comes from Papa Roach’s recipe for hard rock radio hits: chunky rhythms, razor-sharp riffing and thick, powerful rap-rock vocals. The four-piece outfit delivers that classic Papa Roach sound on “Crooked Teeth,” with aggressive lyrics (“Everybody’s looking at me, staring at me / Everybody’s looking at me”) and a punchy, memorable chorus. The formula is spot-on, and “Crooked Teeth” should fit well beside Papa Roach hits such as “Getting Away with Murder,” “Scars,” “Kick in the Teeth,” “Lifeline” and “Leader of the Broken Hearts,” thought it falls under the more hard-hitting Papa Roach songs than melodic.

“Crooked Teeth” will arrive on Papa Roaching upcoming album, which is slated to arrive in 2017. The album will mark the band’s follow-up to 2015’s “F.E.A.R.”
