Tool have added a handful of new tour dates to their 2017 summer schedule

Tool announced their first major North American tour in several years in March, to the relief of many fans. Now, the band has announced three additional live shows for its summer schedule. Maynard James Keenan and company’s trio of new tour dates include a June 18 show in Nampa, Idaho, a June 21 date in San Jose and June 23 performance in Sacramento.

To say Tool’s summer tour has been a hot ticket is hardly an understatement. Most of the previously announced headlining dates on the band’s tour sold out in minutes. In fact, the band’s show scheduled for June 7 show at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, sold out in less than 8 minutes, leaving many Tool fans heading to the secondary market.

Tool’s full summer tour sets off May 24 in Fairfax, Virginia. One of Maynard James Keenan’s other popular bands, A Perfect Circle, also has tour dates lined up for this year. Those guys kicked off their spring North American tour last weekend (Friday, April 7) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A Perfect Circle also recently announced they will release their first new album in more than a decade this year. The new set, which will arrive via BMG, will mark A Perfect Circle’s first new studio album since 2004’s “eMOVIVe.”

The guys of Tool have also been hard at work on a new album, and it’s been more than a decade since their last release, too. Keenan is currently working on vocals for the new album, according to a recent post by the band’s Webmaster on their official website.
