Tom Morello lists his favorite performances from Chris Cornell

Tom Morello knows Chris Cornell well. After all, he performed with Cornell for years in the super group Audioslave, which featured Morello’s Rage Against the Machine band mates Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk playing alongside Cornell.

Now, Morello has shared a special playlist of his favorite Cornell performances to pay tribute to his friend and colleague, who passed away last week. Cornell was 52.

Morello posted the playlist on YouTube, and it features some of Cornell’s most famous songs, as well as some lesser-known gems. Soundgarden’s “Outshined,” Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” and Temple of the Dog’s “Hunger Strike” are in the mix.

“Made a list of some of my favorite Chris Cornell videos — from Soundgarden bada**ery, to epic Audioslave in Cuba, to acoustic duetting in a tiny Seattle night club,” Morello stated in a message on Instagram. “Enjoy and keep Chris in your memory.”

Audioslave released three albums between 2002 and 2006. They called it quits in 2007 but reunited this year for a protest concert on Inauguration Day.

After the news of Cornell’s passing came out, Morello wrote, “I am devastated and deeply saddened that you are gone dear friend but your unbridled rock power, delicate haunting melodies and the memory of your smile are with us forever.”

Morello also penned a poem to pay tribute to Cornell.
