Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Dio Musicians Announce New Album with the Dead Daisies

Story by Cat Badra

The Dead Daisies is an all-star band featuring musicians from a slew of popular rock bands, including Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Dio and Thin Lizzy. The band released a live set last year, called “Live & Louder,” and now, the group has announced plans to release their fourth studio album. The collection, titled “Burn It Down,” will arrive on via Spitfire Music/SPV.

The Dead Daises brings together singer John Corabi (Motley Crue), guitarist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio), bass player Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy), guitarist David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink) and, the newest addition to the band, drummer Deen Castronovo (Journey).

Corabi recently spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the band’s high-energy live shows. “We’re friends, so we have fun,” he said. “We don’t take ourselves all that serious, and there’s a good banter onstage between the band and the audience. Even in a festival setting, it’s pretty loose, and I like that. I like the fact that we go out and give it all we’ve got, but we don’t take ourselves all that serious, and we’re just doing it to have fun.”

As for the new album, Corabi says in a statement, “I’m extremely excited about our new record, ‘Burn It Down.’ It was a pleasure to once again work with )producer) Marti Frederiksen and the band on what I believe is the next great step in The Dead Daisies journey. This is a balls-out old school rock record!!!”

The Dead Daisies will also hit the road in 2018 to play the new tunes off “Burn It Down” live. The guys currently have dates booked in Europe, and they also plan to tour North America, Japan and South America. For information, head to TheDeadDaisies.com.
