Lamb of God will celebrate the 15-year anniversary of “Ashes of the Wake” with a special edition reissue package

Lamb of God’s hard-charging 2004 album “Ashes of the Wake” hits the 15 year mark this year, and in honor of the anniversary, the metal band will unleash a special edition reissue of the album.

The album was a significant one for Lamb of God, because it marked their major label debut. The special edition reissue brings together the original “Ashes of the Wake” album, as well as four extra songs, including demos of “Laid to Rest,” the B-side “Another Nail for Your Coffin” and “Remorse Is for the Dead.”

“It was a pivotal point for our band,” guitarist Mark Morton said regarding “Ashes of the Wake” in a statement.

“We were transitioning from the relative comfort of an underground scene that we felt confident and natural in, to a much higher profile with higher stakes and more critical eyes upon us,” he added.

Lamb of God’s most recently studio release is the band’s 2018 covers album, “Legion: XX.” The guys released an album of originals, “VII: Sturm und Drang,” in 2015.

The band spent much of last year supporting Slayer on the band’s farewell tour. They will continue on the Slayer run this year, beginning with a show May 2 in Phoenix, Arizona.
