Incubus’ Brandon Boyd: Linkin Park Tour is a ‘Great Opportunity’

Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd gives thoughts on the band’s upcoming Honda Civic Tour with Linkin Park

Incubus and Linkin Park are co-headlining the upcoming Honda Civic Tour, and it’s a partnership that’s been a long time in the making. Both bands came up in the post-grunge, late-’90s and early-2000s alternative rock climate, and both quickly found success and have earned a bevy of rock radio hits.

Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd says the tour will be like seeing two headlining shows. “I just think it’s a good moment and a great opportunity to have … two big, giant rock & roll bands sharing a stage,” he said in a recent press conference. “I just think that’s going to be better than either of us would do in our own show… It’s two headlining sets, including Mute Math, which is going to be a good time as well. So it’s almost like a mini-festival, which is amazing.”

Boyd added that he remembers when his band played the Honda Civic Tour years ago. “… That was, like, over 10 years ago, and I remember rit being really, really great. And I think the listeners and friends and fans and family who came out to those shows had a really great experience, too. So I know that we as a band are really looking forward to doing it again this year. And personally, this will be the end of our touring cycle for our newest record, and so we’re looking forward to just making some music, and I’m very much looking forward to seeing Linkin Park with my own eyes for the first time since… I think it’s going to be fun to be able to see you guys every night.”
