Bush’s 1996 rock hit ‘Machinehead’ is Gold Gym’s No. 1 Workout Song for 2013

What’s the most popular workout jam ever? According to Gold’s Gym, Bush’s 1996 hit single “Machinehead” is the perfect track to spin in the gym. The song was voted the Ultimate Workout Song for 2013 in Gold’s recent March Music Madness Battle of the Bands competition.

The competition to be named Ultimate Workout Song was tough. Gold’s Gym asked the public, celebrities and gym members to name their favorite workout songs, and then, the gym picked 64 tracks to compete against each other in a bracket-style contest. MBX biker Mike Spinner nominated “Machinehead,” and in the end, over 40,000 people voted to crown “Machinehead” No. 1. Other songs that made the Final Four included “Till I Collapse” by Eminem featuring Nate Dogg, “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO and GrandMastaz’s cover of the Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” so “Machinehead” was the sole rock contender at the end.

In honor of Spinner nominating the Bush song, Gold’s Gym is donating $5,000 on his behalf to the Coastal Boxer Rescue of Florida charity, an organization with the goal of rescuing abused, abandoned and neglected boxer dogs.
