Linkin Park will release a collection of new interpretations of songs from their 2012 album, ‘Living Things,’ called ‘Recharged’

Linkin Park aren’t planning to release their next full-length studio album this year, but that doesn’t mean fans won’t get served some new music from the band before 2014 rings in. Linkin Park have announced that they’ll release an album called “Recharged” in October, featuring fresh interpretations of songs from their 2012 release, “Living Things.”

The upcoming album will also feature a new single called “A Light That Never Comes,” which the band put together with electronic dance music artist Steve Aoki. Fans can “unlock” a stream of “A Light That Never Comes” by playing Linkin Park’s Facebook game, “LP Recharge.”

“Recharged” is set to reach store shelves and online outlets on Oct. 29. The album will arrive as a standard release in CD, vinyl and digital formats, and as a limited-edition box set version, the latter which will be limited to 500 copies. The box set will pack CDs of “Recharged” and “Living Things,” a 48-page art book and an interactive, 3D sculpture modeled after the “Living Things” album artwork.

In other Linkin Park news, frontman Chester Bennington is currently on the road with the guys of Stone Temple Pilots. Bennington recently replaced former frontman Scott Weiland in the group, and now, they’re going by the name Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington.
