CBGB Music & Film Festival Conference to offer free concert featuring My Morning Jacket, the Wallflowers and more

The CBGB Music & Film Festival Conference is coming up next month in New York City, and the festival just got a little bigger. My Morning Jacket and the Wallflowers have announced that they’ll perform a free concert in New York City’s Times Square in conjunction with the second annual event.

The concert – which will also feature sets by Grizzly Bear, Divine Fits and a special DJ set by former LCD Soundsystem singer James Murphy – will happen Oct. 12 on multiple outdoor stages. In addition to the concerts, the event will also offer some interactive elements around Times Square, including a skateboard half-pipe, a silent disco, a record fair and more.

The CBGB Music & Film Festival Conference will take place Oct. 8 through 13 at over 150 locations in and around New York City. Duff McKagan of Velvet Revolver, Loaded and formerly Guns N’ Roses will deliver a keynote speech at the event. More musical performances will come from Atlas Genius, Bleeding Hearts, Loose Buttons, Cream drummer Ginger Baker and Lisa Loeb, to name a few. The much-anticipated CBGB movie will also premiere during the opening day of the festival at Manhattan’s Landmark Sunshine Theater. The movie will reach North American theaters Oct. 11.
