‘Metallica Through the Never’ Coming to DVD

Metallica’s 3D concert film, ‘Through the Never,’ will arrive on DVD and Blu-ray in January

Metallica’s 3D concert film debuted in movie theaters across the nation last month, and now, the band is ready to release the movie for viewing on the small screen. Metallica will release “Metallica Through the Never” on DVD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray on Jan. 28.

All of the versions of the film will pack a special documentary called “Making of Metallica Through the Never,” as well as interviews with the cast and crew of the film and behind-the-scenes footage. Additional footage includes tape of a Q&A session Metallica conducted at the Mill Valley Film Festival, as well as some shots from drummer Lars Ulrich’s Film Tent at this past summer’s Orion Music + More festival.

Those who want to get something a tad more elite may want to opt for one of the limited-edition packages, which offer a “Metallica Through the Never” movie poster lithograph and “Metallic Through the Never” bandana. A deluxe set, available to members of Metallica’s Met Club, will feature an autographed lithograph and a piece of Doris, the statue of Lady Justice, plus a letter of authenticity. The deluxe set will be limited to 1,000 copies.
