New Nirvana ‘In Utero’ tribute album to arrive digitally and on vinyl just in time for Record Store Day

Nirvana‘s 1993 album “In Utero” turned 20 last year, and to commemorate the milestone, the release received a deluxe reissue packed with bonus goodies. Now, Richmond, Va.-based record label Robotic Empire has decided to put together its own tribute to the famed Nirvana album with “In Utero, in Tribute, in Entirety,” whichi is duo out on April 15 digitally, with an exclusive vinyl version arriving on Record Store Day on April 19.

What makes this tribute album special is the fact the set features covers of all 12 tracks off “In Utero,” and each is performed by a different artist. Circa Survive, Daughters and Mean Jeans are just a few of the bands participating in the collection, and the full track list is below.

The Record Store Day exclusive will be limited to 1,000 copies on maroon vinyl and arrive with a “huge poster.”

“It has been a privilege to introduce so many unique bands to likeminded freaks over the past 15 years,” says Robotic Empire head Andy Low. “…I genuinely hope you’ll enjoy this tribute to one of the bands who first showed me the strange side of music. Nirvana was truly one of the greats, and we’ve done our best to craft an appropriate homage to so many people’s all-time favorite band.”
