It’s been 30 years since Poison released their popular ‘Open Up and Say…Ahh!’ album

Hair metal icons Poison are coming up on the 30th anniversary of their chart-topping album, “Open Up and Say…Ahh!,” and they have some big plans to celebrate. Bret Michaels and the guys will re-release the set, which includes hits such as “Nothin’ But a Good Time” and “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” on 180-gram red and green vinyl.

“Open Up and Say…Ahh!” was released on May 3, 1988, and marked Poison’s sophomore album. In addition to some of the big hits, the set also features the band’s cover of the Loggins and Messina song “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” which made it into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, along with “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” Since its release, the album has gone five-times platinum in the U.S. and is actually Poison’s best-selling album to date.

“Open Up and Say…Ahh!” was produced by Tom Werman (Cheap Trick, Twisted Sister), engineered by Duane Baron and recorded at Conway Recording Studios in Los Angeles. The “Open Up and Say…Ahh!” vinyl reissue features the album’s famed cover art, which shows a female model dressed and made up to look like a tiger, which was somewhat controversial at the time.

The red vinyl version of “Open Up and Say…Ahh!” is readily available at select retailers, while the green vinyl is limited to 1,000 copies and available exclusively at The Sound Of Vinyl.

In other news, Poison will stay busy on the road throughout this spring and summer. Michaels and the guys are performing on the “Nothin’ But a Good Time” 2018 tour with special guests Cheap Trick and Pop Evil.

Poison’s ‘Open Up and Say…Ahh!’ Track Listing:
