Gabrielle Crahan, the daughter of Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan, has passed away at age 22

Slipknot has been in the news a lot as of late, seeing as the popular Iowan metal band is gearing up to release their much-anticipated sixth studio album, “We Are Not Your Kind,” this summer. In anticipation of the upcoming album, the band debuted the album’s lead single, “Unsainted,” last week and also appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to perform the song, as well as the single “All Out Life,” live for the first time.

Following those live appearances, however, the band announced some tragic news. Slipknot co-founder Shawn “Clown” Crahan’s daughter, Gabrielle, has passed away. She was only 22 years old.

Slipknot shared the news on Twitter via an emotional message from Crahan, stating, “It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday – Saturday May 18th, 2019. She was 22 years old. Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you. Much love, clown.”

Crahan’s son Simon and daughter Alexandria also posted a message about Gabrielle’s passing on social media, as well as Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. View those posts below.

Yesterday my little sister Gabrielle passed away. I am in shock and have no idea how to process the wave of emotions I am experiencing. The comforts I have in these moments are my family, friends, and cats. Please put good energy out for my parents and my brothers. This loss leaves the biggest hole and our lives will never be the same. 22 is too young to die.
