Shinedown has collected all of their versions of “Get Up” and released them in an EP

Shinedown has released multiple versions of the song “Get Up” since the band’s latest album, “ATTENTION ATTENTION,” arrived, and now, the band is making a special EP featuring all the different versions of “Get Up” available.

The new EP, appropriately called the “Get Up” EP, offers three different takes of the song: the original, rocked out version; a piano-heavy version; and an acoustic performance. The EP is available now via the usual digital outlets.

“‘Get Up’ is a song about empathy,” frontman Brent Smith said in a statement. Smith wrote the track about bass player Eric Bass’ battle with depression and anxiety.

“It’s a song about not being afraid to fail,” Smith added about “Get Up.” “It’s a song about inspiring others and now we want you to hear the song as it began.”

The original, amped up version of “Get Up” arrived on “ATTENTION ATTENTION” in May of 2018. The latest track off the album, “Monsters,” recently broke into the Top 5 on the Active Rock Chart.

In other news, Shinedown will kick off a summer tour to promote “ATTENTION ATTENTION” beginning June 21 in The Woodlands, Texas. Openers on the tour include Badflower, Dinosaur Pile-Up and Broken Hands. Find Shinedown’s upcoming tour dates via Shinedown.com.
