Aaron Carter was found dead in his Southern California home at 34 years old

Singer-rapper Aaron Carter, best known for his start performing as a child and going on to have hit albums and singles in his teens, was found dead Saturday (Nov. 5). Carter was discovered at his home in Southern California. He was 34 years old.

Carter’s family has confirmed the musician’s death via their official representatives. They did not offer any other comment or explain the cause of death.

Carter was the younger brother of Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys. He made a name for himself aside from the fanfare of having a famous sibling, and toured with Britney Spears as an opening act, as well as for the Backstreet Boys. The world also got to know Carter on his family’s reality TV series “House of Carters,” which aired on E! Entertainment Television.

According to Deputy Alejandra Parra with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to a call at Carter’s residence around 11 a.m. following reports of a medical emergency at the home in Lancaster. Parra went on to say the deputies discovered a deceased person’s body at the home but, despite rumors, could not immediately confirm it was Carter. The news was later confirmed by Carter’s family. More information is expected to be released in the coming weeks.

While Carter was mainly known for his music, it had been a few years since he had been active in the music world. His most recent studio album, “LOVE,” hit stores in 2018. Carter’s self-titled debut dropped in 1997. He followed that up with 2000’s “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It),” 2001’s “Oh Aaron” and 2002’s “Another Earthquake!” He also has a handful of greatest hits compilations out. He has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide.
