Beloved 1980s Rock Band Announces Las Vegas Residency
Las Vegas and 1980s rock go together very well. Sure, the “hair metal” of the 1980s came up on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, California, but there’s something about the Las Vegas lifestyle that fits well with that fun, big rock ‘n’ roll from the 1980s. Now, a favorite rock and metal band from that era has announced a massive Las Vegas residency.
Motley Crue is Coming to Las Vegas
The bad boys of Motley Crue have announced a Las Vegas residency set for next spring, with 11 shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The residency runs from March 28 through April 19, 2025. The band has been a favorite in Las Vegas and previously performed two sold-out residencies: Motley Crue Takes on Sin City in 2012 and Evening in Hell in 2013. So, it’s been more than a decade since the band has played a Las Vegas residency, and it’s about time to get back there.
According to a release, the Crue residency will “take the audience on a journey back to their gritty rock beginnings. The tell-all show will immerse the audience in the band’s history, leading all the way through their record-breaking Stadium Tour.” Of course, don’t expect Kiss-like avatars at the show.
“Motley Crue and Las Vegas have always been the perfect combination of extravagance and decadence,” the members of Motley Crue said in a shared statement. “We’ve always loved the idea of the Vegas residency, because we’ve always loved the idea of staying in one location to build a unique show for the fans. We’re excited to get into rehearsals and work up a lot of songs that have been requested by the fans for years.”
Pre-sale tickets are available for Motley Crue’s S.I.N. Club starting Friday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. PT. A variety of other pre-sales are also available. For full details, head to the band’s official website. The Motley Crue Last Vegas Residency dates are March 28 and 29 and April 2, 4, 5, 9, 11, 12, 16, 18 and 19, all in 2025.
Las Vegas for a Good Cause
In addition, a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales of The Las Vegas Residency will be donated to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, “a Las Vegas-based organization that provides the thousands of young people experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada with wraparound support to help youth move into stable housing, grow, and flourish.”
A statement adds, “The announcement marks another extension of the band’s new philanthropic endeavor, the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative – a moniker under which the band partners with non-profits close to Vince, Nikki, Tommy, and John’s hearts.”
The Las Vegas residency follows the group’s recent announcement of a special string of shows where it all started, on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, with a three-night string of exclusive, intimate club shows at the Troubadour, The Roxy and the Whisky a Go Go. Those shows happen next week.
Motley Crue will release their “Cancelled EP” on Friday (Oct. 4). The EP was produced by Bob Rock and marks the band’s first release with Big Machine. It features a handful of rock radio singles in “Dogs of War,” a cover of the Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right,” new single “Cancelled” and the EP’s title track.
