New Found Glory, the Used and Taking Back Sunday Added to Warped Tour
Vans Warped Tour adds acts to 2012 roster
The 18th annual Vans Warped Tour is shaping up to be a punk-stuffed bill highlighting both up-and-comers and the elders of the pop-rock genre. Organizers have just announced a few more headliners, and they’re big-named outfits: New Found Glory, the Used and Taking Back Sunday. The tour sets off June 16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will visit a total of 41 cities in the U.S. and Canada before closing out on August 5 in Portland, Ore.
New Found Glory are something of the statesmen of the pop-punk genre. The guys burst onto the scene in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, and they aren’t slowing down one bit. “We love what we do,” lead guitarist Chad Gilbert told Nine to Five. “If you’ve got your dream job – if you accomplish your dream at a very young age – you would never let that go. This is something that I’ve always wanted to do. It never gets old, being onstage, playing my guitar, playing our music. Writing music that people get to listen to, it’s something that I’d never want to lose.”
Other bands on the Warped Tour bill include Falling in Reverse, Yellowcard, Anti Flag, Senses Fail, We the Kings, All Time Low, Of Mice and Men, Pierce the Veil, Streetlight Manifesto, Miss May I, Sleeping with Sirens, Transit, Mayday Parade, Blessthefall, Motionless in White and more. The complete list of 2012 performers, tour dates and ticket information can be found at the Warped Tour’s official website.
