Linkin Park to Release ‘Hybrid Theory’ Vinyl on Record Store Day

Story by Anne Erickson
Songs off Linkin Park’s ‘Hybrid Theory’ will arrive on vinyl in conjunction with Record Store Day 2013
Record Store Day 2013 happens on April 20 this year, and a slew of rock and metal bands are in the process of announcing plans to take part in the festivities. The annual event, which is in its sixth year this year, is dedicated to supporting local, independently-owned brick-and-mortar stores and, of course, classic vinyl.
The boys of Linkin Park appreciate a good vinyl record, and the alternative rock band has announced they will release a one disc vinyl LP of their seminal debut album, “Hybrid Theory,” plus a two-song 10-inch EP on Record Store Day, which comes with an exclusive poster and sticker. The two tracks that will appear on the 10-inch include “My December” and “One Step Closer,” both off “Hybrid Theory.” Collectors take note that the release will be limited to 3,000 copies.
Linkin Park’s set is being reissued on vinyl for the first time in over a decade and is cut by Bernie Grundman Mastering to make for the best possible sound. “The arresting debut album that came to be known by fans and critics alike as one of The Premiere Albums of the decade,” the press release boasts.
