It’s great news for Tool fans everywhere. A handful of new Tool 2017 tour dates were posted on Ticketmaster this morning (March 13), and the band has also made an official announcement on Facebook. From the looks of the tour dates, the band is hitting cities it hasn’t been in a while.
The on sale date for the newly posted shows — a roster that currently includes seven new gigs — is Friday (May 17), giving fans just a few days to prepare. The new shows posted on Ticketmaster’s website include stops at major venues in Clarkston, MI; Bangor, ME; Fairfax, VA; Pittsburgh, PA; Rochester, NY; Rosemont, IL; and Hamilton, ON.
Tool’s 2017 tour will set off on May 24 in Fairfax, VA, and continue thorugh a June 8 date in Rosemont, IL. Ticketmaster also has Tool’s previously announced appearance at the 2017 Governors Ball in New York posted.
As for new music, the newest post from Tool’s webmaster states that Keenan is getting serious about laying down vocals.
“In speaking with Danny (Carey, drums) last night,” the message states, “he told me that the band has temporarily MOVED some of their gear into a larger space (across town) where MAYNARD is working on VOCALS for some of the new Tool material,” the update states.”
The band’s website message continues, “I’m sure that he has already been doing this to some extent, but now he has more room to breathe and a better vocal booth.”
