Nickelback have released a new song called ‘Song of Fire’ off their upcoming album

Nickelback are gearing up to release a new album, and while that album’s first single, “Feed the Machine,” is a heavy rocker that’s moving up the mainstream rock radio charts, and now, the group is showing off a more melodic side.

Chad Kroeger and the band have unleashed a new track called “Song on Fire,” while will arrive on their upcoming “Feed the Machine” album. Unlike the album’s title track, this tune is a soft, emotive and graceful. It’s reminiscent of Nickelback’s crossover hits “Photograph” and “Someday.”

“Feed the Machine” will arrive June 16, and Nickelback will embark on a massive tour following the release. The trek kicks off June 23 in Noblesville, Indiana, and will run through an Oct. 1 show in Vancouver.

Opening for the Canadian band for the U.S. dates, plus Toronto and Montreal, will be Daughtry. Opening for the group’s western Canadian tour will be Cheap Trick.

Nickelback formed 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada, and the guys hit it big with their 2001 studio album, “Silver Side Up.” The set included the popular rock singles “How You Remind Me,” “Too Bad” and “Never Again.” “Feed the Machine” will mark Nickelback’s ninth studio album.
