Bret Michaels says Poison is “looking forward to returning in 2020 with some new songs”

We’re inching closer to 2019, but Poison frontman Bret Michaels is already looking into 2020, and the singer says that the glam rock band will return in 2020 “with some new songs.”

Speaking with Newsday, Michaels stated that Poison haven’t thrown in the towel and are actively looking ahead to the future.

“There’s never going to be a day when I say, ‘I’m done with Poison,'” Michael said. “The band is looking forward to returning in 2020 with some new songs. We are still having the time of our lives on stage.”

Poison spent much of this year on their “Nothin’ But A Good Time 2018” tour with Cheap Trick and Pop Evil, and the guys are currently enjoying some downtime. The band’s most recent of original material was 2002’s “Hollyweird,” and Poison released an album of cover songs, “Poison’d,” in 2007.

Poison drummer Rikki Rocket discussed the possibility of new Poison music with Audio Ink earlier this year. When asked if the guys plan to release any new music, he replied, “I sure hope so! I don’t have an announcement about that, but we have talked about that, and we are going to have more meetings about the future of Poison very soon, and you will definitely be informed about that when it comes.”

Rockett also discussed his love for playing live– something Poison has no plans to stop doing anytime soon. “Who doesn’t want to tour and play in front of crows and rock?” Rockett said. “If you’re a rock fan — and we’re all fans of rock to begin with — to do our own stuff and play it for people is the best way to make a living, literally.”
