Alter Bridge recently announced that their new album, “Walk the Sky,” will arrive on Oct. 18 via Napalm Records, and now, we have the first taste off that new record. Today (June 28), the modern rockers released the first single off the album, “Wouldn’t You Rather,” and the official music video for the song can be streamed below.

On “Wouldn’t You Rather,” Alter Bridge surges back on the scene with incredible force and talent. Singer Myles Kennedy’s vocals stretch far and wide over guitarist Mark Tremonti’s shredding, which makes for a powerful, meaty hard rock anthem. The music video, directed by Dan Sturgess, is a performance video that shows off the live skills of Kennedy, Tremonti, bass player Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips.

“Walk the Sky” will feature 14 original tracks, and those tracks, according to a release, were created from full song ideas put together by Kennedy and Tremonti, which were eventually fleshed out into full-scale songs and put together on “Walk The Sky.” This is different from past records, which saw Kennedy and Tremonti bringing riffs and random ideas to producer Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette to create the tunes.

In other news, Alter Bridge will set out on a massive worldwide tour to support “Walk the Sky” this fall. The tour will kick off in the United States in September and head to Europe as 2019 comes to a close. In Europe, the band will be joined by Shinedown, Sevendust and the Raven Age. In the U.S., they’ll share the stage with Skillet. Alter Bridge promises to perform some of the new tunes off “Walk the Sky” on the upcoming tour dates, including “Godspeed,” “Native Son” and “Walking On The Sky.” Alter Bridge will also play the main stages at Exit 111 festival in October and the sold-out 2020 ShipRocked Cruise early next year.
