Ozzy Osbourne has been working on his follow-up to 2010’s “Scream,” and he says the new album is his best yet

Ozzy Osbourne surprised many when he appeared as a musical guest on rapper Post Malone’s new album, “Hollywood’s Bleeding.” What’s even more shocking is that working with Post Malone helped inspire Ozzy to start working on his own new solo record.

Ozzy tells The Sun that writing and recording with Post Malone got him thinking and moving ahead on his first solo album since “Scream.”

“I’d never even heard of this kid,” Ozzy said in the interview, regarding Post Malone. “He wanted me to sing on his song ‘Take What You Want,’ so I did and then one thing led to another.”

Osbourne went on to begin working on his new solo album with Post Malone’s producer, Andrew Watt, and that was a winning combination.

“It’s only nine tracks but it was a catalyst to get me to where I am today,” Ozzy said, also claiming that the new record is “the greatest album I’ve done.”

Earlier this year, Ozzy took a fall in his home, aggravating injuries he got back in 2003 in an ATV accident. He had to undergo surgery and postpone his full roster of 2019 tour dates. That said, working in the studio while he can’t be on the road has been great for Ozzy.

“If it wasn’t for making this record, I would still be [in] traction, thinking, ‘I’m going to be lying here forever,'” Osbourne said. “I’ve missed music so badly. My fans are so loyal and so good.”
