Mark Tremonti Would Love to Collaborate with Metallica

Hearing Metallica and Mark Tremonti together would be fascinating, and Tremonti says that would be his absolute dream collaboration

There’s no denying that Metallica is one of the biggest metal bands in the world right now, and they’ve inspired countless men and women to pick up a musical instrument and create their own heavy sounds. Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge is one of the guys inspired by Metallica and what they’ve done for metal music. Growing up, he was a huge fans, so it makes sense that if Tremonti had the opportunity to collaborate with anyone in the world, it would be Metallica.

When asked who would be his dream to collaborate with in a new interview with Audio Ink Radio, Tremonti answered, “My dream would be Metallica. They were my favorite band growing up, and that would be quite an honor.” Read the full interview here.

Metallica is only playing five U.S. gigs next year, all of them Danny Wimmer music festivals in which they’ll be performing two full sets. That leaves time for them to work on new music. Perhaps they’ll ask Mark Tremonti to join in on a session? Only time will tell.

In other news, Alter Bridge their new studio album, “Walk the Sky,” last month, which features the hit single, “Wouldn’t You Rather.” When asked about the importance of musical chemistry between the band members in Alter Bridge, he replied, “It’s very important.”

“We’ve been writing songs since 2004,” Tremonti added about band members’ relationships with each other. “It’s been a long time, and we have learned a lot from one and other as writers and musicians, in general, and have always gotten along and had a shared vision.”
