Evanescence Announces New Album, ‘The Bitter Truth’; Readies New Single
Amy Lee and the Evanescence crew are using their downtime from touring to release new music
With tour plans on hold for Evanescence due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the band has decided to unleash some new music earlier than expected.
Amy Lee and the band have announced that their new album, “The Bitter Truth,” will arrive later this year. The album will mark the band’s first all-original record since 2011’s “Evanescence.” As with the self-titled album, Nick Raskulinecz is producing the upcoming Evanescence effort.
“We promised you a new album in 2020 and we won’t let anything stop us,” the band said in a statement.
The first single from “The Bitter Truth,” the song “Wasted on You,” will arrive this Friday (April 24). Those who pre-save the song on any given streaming platform will be in the running to win a Zoom call with Lee, plus the winner will be able to hear the song a day early.
“The Bitter Truth” marks Evanscence’s follow-up to 2017’s “Synthesis,” which featured re-imagined versions of popular Evanescence songs from throughout the band’s career, re-recorded with orchestral and electronic flourishes.
