Listen to a new song from Shaun Morgan and the Seether crew, the punk-tinged “Bruised and Bloodied”
Shaun Morgan and the guys of Seether have debuted a new, punk-influenced song, named “Bruised and Bloodied.” The song, which is available now via digital outlets, will arrive on the group’s upcoming studio album, “Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum.” Listen to the new tune below.
“‘Bruised and Bloodied’ is a mix of self-deprecation and rage, neatly wrapped up in a sexy groove with a big shiny pop bow on top,” Morgan said in a statement. “Essentially, it is a combination of shame and sadness delivered in a cheerful way, as I’ve always enjoyed juxtaposing jaded lyrics with a jubilant melody.”
“Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum,” which marks Seether’s eighth studio album, is Latin for “If you want peace, prepare for war.” The full album will arrive Aug. 28 via Fantasy Records. Previously, Seether released the lead single off the new album, the riff-y “Dangerous.”
“Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum” is also Seether’s first to feature new guitarist Corey Lowery, formerly of Saint Asonia, Stuck Mojo, Dark New Day and Stereomud.
“Corey has a lot of experience and is an inspiring guitarist as well; he’s the older brother I’ve always wanted,” Morgan said of the new addition.
Seether’s current lineup is rounded out Morgan, Lowery, bass player and founding member Dale Stewart and longtime drummer John Humphrey.
