Nirvana Re-Releases Rare EP for National Record Store Day
Rock News: Nirvana EP Among National Record Store Day Releases
Grunge great Nirvana’s, Hormoaning, EP is set to be re-released on National Record Store Day, April 16.
Originally only available during the band’s 1992 Australian tour, the EP features two original songs (“Aneurysm” and “Even In His Youth”), as well as covers taped during a 1990 BBC Peel Session. Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic all play on the cover songs, which include Devo’s “Turnaround,” The Wipers’ “D-7,” and The Vaselines’ “Son of A Gun” and “Molly’s Lips.” This special, re-release is limited to 6,000 copies.
Foo Fighters, Deftones, Sonic Youth, The Rolling Stones, The Clash, The Strokes and Ozzy Osbourne are also plotting out special releases for Record Store Day. Ozzy Osbourne is the official 2011 Record Store Day Ambassador.
