Foo Flick: Director of Foo Fighters Docuementary says Dave Grohl is, ‘very gifted’
Fans have enjoyed a healthy dose of Foo Fighters fanfare lately, from the grunge-rock band spilling details about their forthcoming new album (“Wasting Light,” out April 12) to surprise L.A. shows to a video featuring frontman Dave Grohl and company joyriding in a, “White Limo.”
The latest endeavor is the band’s first documentary, “Foo Fighters: Back and Forth,” which plays in select movie theaters throughout the country Tuesday, April 5. A live, 3D performance from the band will follow the film. The film will also air on VH1, VH! Classic and Palladia 10 p.m. EST/PT April 8.
Tickets are available via the Foo’s Film page.
Listen to a podcast interview with the Oscar and Emmy Award-winner director of the documentary, James Moll, below. Moll says he’s never met Dave Grohl before shooting the film, and that’s one reason he was a “very unlikely” pick for the film.
