Ex-Killswitch Engage Vocalist Jesse Leach Comments on Possible Return
Jesse Leach address rumors that he’ll return to Killswitch Engage
When the news recently broke that Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones was leaving the progressive metal band, it seemed natural that former Killswitch singer Jesse Leach would return to the fold. Leach has been fairly quiet about the possibility of joining back up with the Boston-based group, but he addressed the question head-on when speaking with Australia’s Loud magazine today (Jan. 30).
When asked by Loud if Leach had been directly approached by the members of Killswitch regarding the possibility of getting back together with the guys, he replied, “I’m not going to comment. Everyone wants to know… I’d rather those guys go through what they’ve got to go through and whenever they make that decision… They’re good friends of mine, so I’m respecting their space at the moment. It’s more fun, more mystery, too; you don’t have to know everything. These days everybody is on Facebook and tweeting everything that happens. What’s happened to the mystery of music and not knowing everything?”
Jones added that he wishes Killswitch all the best in their search, whether or not he ends up back on the microphone. “My viewpoint is to respectfully step back from the situation and support them,” he said. “Whatever decision they make will be the right one for them and I look forward to what it is.”
Leach is still tight with the members of Killswitch Engage, as he fronts Times of Grace, a joint metal-core project with Killswitch guitarists Adam Dutkiewicz and Joel Stroeltzel. The band’s debut LP, “Hymn of a Broken Man,” arrived last year on Roadrunner Records, and the guys spent much of last summer touring with Christian metal band Underoath.
