RED Guitarist Gives Kudos to Seether, Skillet and Papa Roach
RED’s Anthony Armstrong: ‘We’ve had a whirlwind career from the beginning’
Christian hard rock gents RED know how to tear up a stage with their sweeping, heavy, post-grunge attack. “Until We Have Faces,” the latest album from the Nashville quartet, arrived in early 2011, bringing the brutally beautiful music and brooding riffing of their last album, 2009’s “Innocence & Instinct,” with a newly refined sound. On “Faces,” RED fine tuned their edges instead of completely changing their attack.
Now, the chaps — lead vocalist Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, bass player Randy Armstrong and drummer Joe Rickard — are gearing up for an extremely busy 2012. Their tour schedule is ready to kick off Feb. 10 in Rochester, Minn., and the group have dates booked on-and-off through November. Find the tour roster, below.
Two thousand eleven saw RED on the Rock Allegiance Tour together with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Puddle of Mudd, P.O.D., Crossfade and Drive A. No strangers to heavy touring, Anthony tells Audio Ink Radio the guys have enjoyed every band with whom they’ve toured. A few of their favorite rock comrades are Seether, Skillet and Papa Roach.
“You know– we’ve had a whirlwind career from the beginning. We would wish the blessing of our career on any young band!” he recently stated. “As for touring, Seether are awesome dudes and fun to tour with, and they make awesome music. We have amazing respect for those guys. Skillet is great, and Papa Roach. Jacoby (Shaddix, Papa Roach lead singer) and those guys from the start were really cool to us on all of our tours. We love the show they put on and the guys they are in general.” To stay up-to-date with RED’s schedule, visit the band’s official website. (Photo credit: Anne Erickson.)
