Former White Stripes Frontman Jack White Announces 2012 Tour Dates
Jack White plans March tour to support ‘Blunderbuss’
Former White Stripes main man Jack White is prepping his long-overdue debut full-length, “Blunderbuss,” which is set to arrive in stores and online April 24 on White’s own Third Man Records / Columbia. Now, Mr. White has a fresh string of March tour dates to support the release.
White’s solo jaunt kicks off March 10 in Chattanooga, Tenn., and hits just six U.S. cities before closing out May 26 in Quincy, Wash., at Sasquatch! Music Festival. White will also play Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend in June in the U.K. Tickets for the U.S. tour dates go on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 17. Find the complete tour roster, below.
As for what to expect from the forthcoming set of tracks from White, the singer and songwriter promises the collection stays true to his core. In an official statement, White said the songs “had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
For those wondering why White didn’t go solo sooner, he explained that “Blunderbuss” is “an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
