Megadeth and Rob Zombie Announce Co-Headlining Tour
Metal giants unite for first-ever tour together
Say you’re ready to rumble with the big guys? Good, because metal men Megadeth and Rob Zombie have just announced a co-headlining tour. This is the first time the two groups have ever toured together, so expect lots of musical fire. The circuit sets off Friday, May 11, in Holmdel, N.J., and hits Rock on the Range and M3 Rock Festival before closing out May 26 in Pryor, Okla. In total, the tour hits nine stops. Check out the full roster at the bottom of the page.
Both bands are flying high at the moment. Megadeth was nominated for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance for “Public Enemy No. 1” at the 54th annual Grammy Awards earlier this month. The track comes off Dave Mustaine and company’s latest effort, “TH1RT3EN,” which dropped in November of 2011. Mustaine — a self-proclaimed born-again Christian — has also made the headlines recently for stating his support for conservative Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
Meanwhile, Rob Zombie spent the end of last year filming his sixth full-length film, “The Lords of Salem,” which is on target to be part of the “Paranormal Activity” franchise. Zombie wrote and directed the film, and the movie is currently in post-production. Rob Zombie — including guitarist John 5, bass player Piggy D and drummer Ginger Fish — are also scheduled to headline this year’s Rocklahoma and co-headline Rock on the Range with alternative rockers Incubus. Do you think the Megadeth, Rob Zombie mix is a must-see bill, or are you passing on this round?
