Radiohead Debut Two New Songs at U.S. Tour Opener
Radiohead kick off U.S. tour in Miami with two new tracks
No, it’s not a mirage. Thom Yorke and Radiohead are truly touring the U.S. once again, and the guys kicked off their much-anticipated North American run in support of last year’s “King of Limbs” last night (Feb. 27) in Miami.
Already, Yorke and company have pulled out not one, but two new songs to play live. The tracks, “Identikit” and “Cut a Hole / Skirting on the Surface,” quickly became some of the hottest topics on the web last night, as lucky concertgoers offered firsthand descriptions of the songs and video snippets from the show. Check out the best video scraps we could find for the new songs, below.
Radiohead pulled out 24 songs in all at the Miami show, most from “King of Limbs.” Thankfully, there were some fan favorites, such as “Karma Police,” “National Anthem” and “Idioteque.” Other songs included “Staircase,” “Feral,” “Idioteque,” “Airbag,” “Bodysnatchers,” “Cut A Hole,” “Give Up the Ghost,” “Reckoner” and more.
The alternative band will wrap up their North American run with a stop at Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif., on April 21. The band will also fly over to Europe and Australia to play a collection of festivals this year. As for the Australia stops, it’s the first time Radiohead have headed there since November of 2004. They will rock a total of six shows in Australia, including one in Brisbane and two in Sydney and Melbourne. New Zealand will also get their Radiohead fix with a show in Auckland. It’s certainly turning out to be the year of Radiohead’s return, and it’s about time!
