Metallica Add Kyng, Sepultura and More to Orion Music Bill
Metallica pack heavy acts into Orion Music + More lineup
Metallica are beefing up the lineup for the first annual Orion Music + More, the two day metal and indie rock festival the guys are throwing from June 23 to June 24 in Atlantic City, N.J., with the help of C3 Presents. The new names just added to the bill will likely please heavy music fans who were wondering, “Where’s the metal?”
Orion Music + More’s latest performers include Eric Church, the Jim Breuer Heavy Metal Comedy Tour, Soul Rebels, Wooden Shjips and an entire stage devoted to punk and thrash music, the “Damage Inc. Stage,” headlined by Suicidal Tendencies and Sepultura. Other new names on the bill include Torche, Red Fang, Kyng, Landmine Marathon, Black Tusk, Thy Will Be Done and more. So, yes, these additions are much heavier than the acts already announced for the festival. Previously announced bands include Metallica, Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, the Gaslight Anthem, Cage the Elephant, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, the Sword, A Place to Bury Strangers, Liturgy and others.
Metallica will headline both nights of Orion Music + More and rock out their seminal “Black Album” in its entirety one night and “Ride the Lightening” the other. The guys promise this will be the one chance to catch them playing these discs in North America in 2012. Those looking for new information may check out the festival’s newly launched website, which featured the bands playing, bios, videos, music, photos, social updates and more.
