Motley Crue and Kiss Announce Dates for 2012 Co-Headlining Tour
Rockers book 40-city U.S. run
Last week, Motley Crue and Kiss dropped the news that they’d be embarking on a nationwide tour this summer, and now, the guys are making good on their promise. Motely Crue and Kiss have announced a 40-city tour kicking off July 20 in Bristow, Va., and each band is set to play around 90 minutes.
Billed as “the biggest tour of the year,” Kiss — featuring Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer — will headline, with Motley Crue — Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil and Mick Mars — going on just ahead of them. Now, that’s rock!
Kiss’ show, Stanley said during a press conference, will feature the band’s legendary pyro and stage theatrics. “Our shows will be a no-fly zone,” he said. “We have a lot of surprises. There are a lot of things we can’t mention,” Thayer added. “But without giving away too much, expect the unbelievable. Expect the unexpected.”
Neil added that the guys of Motley Crue are stoked to be playing with Kiss, a band they grew up admiring. “Our very first tour was with you guys, the Creatures of the Night Tour,” he said.
Motley Crue and Kiss hope the show draws a wide variety of fans, from newbies to the old school variety. “We want everybody there. It’s a celebration of freedom,” Stanley said. “We’re not going to be talking about toxic sludge. We are there to rock and roll.”
Tickets for the trek go on sale this Friday (March 23), with fan club pre-sales starting tomorrow (March 21). Fans can find more information on the official sites of Motley Crue and KISS. Find the full list of tour dates, below. (Photo: Twitter.com/TheVinceNeil.)
