Radiohead Announce Tour Dates in Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee and Beyond
Thom Yorke and company announce new round of North American tour dates
All you Midwest and East Coast kids who were boo-hooing about Radiohead’s tour not hitting the country’s heartland can stop all the crying. Thom Yorke and his British alternative gents have announced a new string of tour dates, and the stops include gigs in states such as Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, New Jersey, Illinois and more. Check out the entire tour itinerary right here.
Radiohead kicked off their North American run to promote their current full-length, “The King of Limbs,” last week in Miami, and the guys pulled out two new songs for the occasion: “Identikit” and “Cut a Hole / Skirting on the Surface.” The new tracks quickly became some of the most buzzed-about topics on the web following the Miami gig, as concertgoers offered firsthand descriptions of the songs and video snippets from the show. Watch some footage of the songs being performed live, here.
Radiohead released “The King of Limbs,” the band’s eighth studio record, last February. The self-released collection, which featured production by Nigel Godrich (Beck, Paul McCartney), reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart. The disc is the follow-up to Radiohead’s successful 2007 album, “In Rainbows.”
Radiohead are also slated to take their indie-good sounds to the 2012 Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif., on April 21 and Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn., June 7 through 10, the latter alongside legendary acts such as Phish, the Beach Boys, Foster the People, Alice Cooper, the Roots, The Avett Brothers, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and more.
