Green Day to Induct Guns N’ Roses into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Green Day added to list of presenters for 2012 Rock Hall induction
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony is just around the corner, and one final presenter has finally been announced. According to RollingStone.com, California punk-pop band Green Day will have the mighty task of inducting Guns N’ Roses into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
As for who from the GN’R camp will be present at the event, that’s still up in the air. While former GN’R members Duff McKagan, Slash, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum have all already announced that they’ll be attending the induction ceremony, it’s still an unknown whether Dizzy Reed, Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin will attend.
Regardless of what GN’R members are present, Slash says not to expect a live performance from the hard rockers. “Everyone has been asking me what’s going to happen [at the Hall of Fame],” Slash told Rolling Stone. “And they know as much as I do. I feel you’re totally obligated to be present and I would love to fucking play, but it’s just something that’s not gonna happen for whatever reason.”
Other entertainers booked to present at the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony include rapper Chuck D, who will induct the Beastie Boys; Chris Rock for the Red Hot Chili Peppers; and the E Street Band’s Stevie Van Zandt for the Small Faces/The Faces. Other presenters include John Mellencamp and Bette Midler. The ceremony will take place April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio. (Photo credit: Anne Erickson.)
