Lollapalooza 2012: Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Black Keys, Jack White and More
Red Hot Chili Peppers top list of headliners for Lollapalooza 2012
It’s finally here: The lineup for Lollapalooza 2012 it out! Following a string of leaks divulging some possibilities for the annual music festival’s bill, the official lineup dropped last night (April 10), and it pretty much echoes what the leaks foreshadowed.
As rumored since February, longtime California funk-rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the festival, which takes place Aug. 3 through 5 in Chicago’s Grant Park. This is the Peppers’ first stop at Lollapalooza in six years. Other headliners include Jack White of White Stripes fame, the Black Keys, reunited metal men Black Sabbath and Florence + the Machine.
Lollapalooza’s full lineup packs 125 acts. Aside from the main artists, the alternative-focused lineup will also feature the Shins, Metric, Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, M83, the Head & the Heart, the Temper Trap, Frank Ocean, the Gaslight Anthem, Bear in Heaven, White Rabbits, Trampled by Turtles, the Walkmen and tons more. Add to that a rare U.S. set from the recently reunited Afghan Whigs and an appearance by also recently reunited At the Drive-In. Find the complete Lollapalooza 2012 lineup, here.
